About
A trained nurse, I retrained in teaching Pilates, remaining faithful to the original concept created by Joseph Pilates himself. My approach to Pilates is resolutely anatomical, requiring an awareness of movement that is both precise and profound.
My transition from the medical world to Pilates was no accident. My experience as a nurse has profoundly influenced my approach to physical education. I consider Pilates to be a true "health sport". Rather than simply teaching movements, I rely on a deep understanding of physiological balance and biomechanics.
What my clients appreciate most about me is my ability to encourage a taste for effort while always associating it with the notion of pleasure. My educational approach, which combines my passion for Pilates with my expertise as a caregiver, offers a unique and enriching learning experience for the body and mind.
Pilates Mat is a method created by Joseph Pilates at the beginning of the 20th century. It is practiced on the floor without machines. Sometimes small equipment is used (mat, Pilates props, etc.). This method targets physical conditioning through the deep muscles, called postural. The objectives are toning and softening the spine, strengthening the abdominals (the center). This discipline requires learning body awareness.
The Pilates Reformer or Pilates Machine is practiced on devices created by Joseph Pilates. I work on Reformer. This machine allows perfect alignments and the recruitment of the center (deep abdominals) is permanent. The machine corrects the positioning because the sensations are very marked. Equipped with a system of springs and straps, the Reformer is composed of a sliding carriage. Thus the practitioner is forced by the machine to work with coordination and precision of movement.
